Exploring The Garden

Hello! I'm Carrie. I came to live with Nikki and her other dolls recently, and I think it's lovely here. I'm 16, and Sarah and I get on especially well. :)

Today, we had been sitting talking together for quite a while, but we were both getting bored. Eventually Sarah came up with an idea.
"Why don't we go out and explore the garden?" she said.
"Yes! That's a great idea."
"Alright then, let's!"

We got up and went outside. It was quite cold, but alright to be out without a coat for a while.
"I'm going to look over here," Sarah said, skipping off to our right. I decided to go the other way.

I came to the step outside the kitchen door. I think it's really pretty, because it's rounded, and the slabs of stone on it almost look patterned.
Suddenly I heard Sarah shouting.

"Hey! Come over here!" she said. "Look at this!"
I ran over to her.

She was standing under a funny sort of tree, planted in a huge pot.
"That's strange!" I said.
"It is, isn't it? I think it's pretty though."
"Yes, me too," I said, looking up at it. "And there's a light here too. I wonder if it comes on at night..."
"Me too. Let's watch it when it gets dark tonight."
I smiled. "Yes!" I looked around. "Let's go up to the lawn," I said, pointing.
"Alright," said Sarah, and we ran over to it.

Sarah stopped halfway. "Look at these little steps," she said, smiling. "They're lovely."
"Yes, they are. I think we should have come out and explored the garden long ago."
"Me too..." Sarah turned, and we carried on up the steps. "But then it would have been winter, so it would probably have been too cold."
"You're probably right."
When Sarah got to the grass, she suddenly stopped.
"Ew! This grass is squelchy!" she said.
I took a step onto it.
"Oh, you're right, it is!"
Sarah took two careful steps forward.
"It's not too bad," she said. "We should be able to walk across it without getting wet shoes."
She started walking again, slowly, and I followed. Eventually we got to the other side of the lawn, and were standing under the huge arched trellis.

"It's lovely under here, isn't it?" I said, looking back over the rest of the garden.
"Yes," said Sarah. "It's like some sort of fairyland."

"Shall we go back now?" I asked, after a while.
"Yes, let's go sit on the steps."

We went carefully back over the grass, and sat down, with the wind blowing our hair.
"I like the garden," I said.
"I do too," said Sarah, looking at everything. "I think we should come out here more often."
"Just in summer!" I laughed.
Sarah giggled.
"It's a pity there are no flowers out yet..." I said thoughtfully. "Are there a lot of flowers her in the summer?"
"Lots! Not as much as where we lived before, but still lots. This garden's really beautiful in the summer."
"It's beautiful now, too."
"Well wait till summer, then it's really lovely."
Suddenly a cold gust on wind blew over. We both shivered at the same time, and then giggled.
"Shall we go inside?" I asked.

"Yes, I think we'd better," said Sarah, getting up. "We can get something warm to drink."
I stood up, and we walked inside, talking. I can't wait till the summer so I can see the garden at its best!

PS From Nikki: Hi everyone! I'm sorry it's taken so long to post, but I've been extremely busy (and I still will be until late April). As you know I've been directing the show I wrote at my drama group, but 6 people have left (most of them for fair reasons) after being cast, all in the space of 20 days, and because of that, in those 20 days a role has had to change hands 12 times! And now there's an empty role, and no one left in the group to fill it, so we're having to search like crazy to find someone, and at the same time, the people on committee are giving loads of other stuff to do (like costume and prop lists and organizing for cast photos to be taken), so I have a chaotic amount of things to think about. I actually only found the time for this post today because I was being so overloaded by people on every side asking me to do things for them, I just needed to stop thinking about any of it for a few hours, because otherwise I just would have gotten stressed by thinking about everything at once, and not been able to do anything. So, I may not be able to post again for a while, but I hopefully will every now and then, if I need to take a break from the other things I'm doing. Thank you for still reading even with all the long gaps I have left, and thanks for understanding. :)

Anna's Birthday Presents

Hello! It is Anna.
My birthday was last week, and I am now 17 years. We did not do much, but everyone gave me lovely things, and they were very kind.
Today I went out of doors with the presents they gave me, and I sat on the pretty wall in the garden to look at them.

The card everyone made for me is so pretty! It is very special. Sarah wrote it, and then they all wrote their names.

It is all in pretty blue colors, and it says 'Happy Birthday Anna!' on the front, and it has many pretty flowers and little yellow and blue dots on it. It is lovely.

I got a pretty little tin, with a little bear on it, called Winnie the Pooh. It is very cute. There is also a small white bear I was given, and he has a blue flower on his front.

Molly gave me a flag! I cannot help to smile at it. It is very sweet.

I also have been given a big book about birds. It is very, very nice, and it has many pretty pictures is color! I spent a long time in reading it outside today.

I am sorry about the picnic blanket in the background. Nikki's brother decided to have his lunch on the grass behind me!
I am sorry also that we have not posted for a long time. Nikki's show did go very well though (but I did not see it). She says that she wishes it was for more nights! She should not be that busy again for 2 or 3 months now though.
I hope that you liked to see the special things everyone gave me for my birthday. Do you like the card? I think it is so pretty!
Goodbye, and happy almost-Easter!

Some Cute Pictures:)

Hi, it's Nikki here.:) I'm really sorry I haven't posted in so long, and I feel like I'm always saying this, but this time I'm much busier than I have been before. I have a show with my drama group on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and I have a lead role on at least one of those nights, and I've been very busy practicing for everything, and there's also a bunch of other problems to do with the show that I've been thinking about a lot. I'm really sorry.
Yesterday I tried to do a photostory, but I couldn't think of anything interesting, and it's really dark and rainy here, so the lighting's bad and I can't do anything outside.:P I would try again, but I'm really preoccupied with the show and stuff right now, and I don't think I'd be able to write anything good at all. I have got a bunch of cute pictures I've taken that haven't been on here, though, and I thought I could post them.:)

Here's Cindy playing solitaire last week.:) She looks so cute in blue!:)

I took this angle for the cards, not Cindy, but I think she looks cute here anyway, for some reason.

And Elyssa doing a puzzle!:)

This one's from a month or two ago, but I think it's pretty.:) I like Julie's toes, and I think I didn't mean them to turn like that.

The lighting is really nice here, and I just like it for the pose, too, but I don't know what's unusual about it. Maybe it's just the lighting.:P

I put Julie up on the bed, and turned her head to Nicki, and then I realized it looked like she was visiting her 'cause she was sick, and it looked so cute!:)

I know the angle's a little funny, but this is the best picture I ever took of Nellie, and I think the blue looks really nice on her!:)

This is a picture of Kirsten from the day I did the hairstyle pictures. She's never really worn this dress before, and it looks so pretty on her!

I decided to stand her in the middle of the little ornaments on my window, and it looked a little like a fairy world.:)

I'd just found out that my bed made a pretty background for her (at least I think it does, somehow:P). This picture has a sort of pink glow from the walls.:)

I also found out that day that Lindsay looks adorable in pigtails!:)

This and the next two were going to be part of a photostory but poor Nellie got a slug in her hair (she's okay though;)) and I couldn't get some of the pictures right.:P

I really like pictures with bright and happy sunlight. It makes them look really cheerful!:)

Here's another one.:) I think this was just before the slug.:P I sat Nellie against the tree while I posed Nicki, and then I posed her and they both fell, and when I picked Nellie up there was a disgusting little slug in her hair!:( But Nellie wasn't the only one to get a horrible creature on her that day: I got bitten by a nasty little tick.:P (It didn't get any blood though.;))

This is a pretty picture that I took at the end of the photostory where Kirsten found a rabbit warren.:) Because the photostory was set back in time, I was trying not to show the tar road, but I really wanted to take this picture so I got it as a sort of spare.:)

That's all the good pictures, I think.:) I hope you liked them, and I'm sorry again for not posting.:)
